Ready to serve
Thank you to the local organizations who have endorsed my candidacy
Greetings Guilderland neighbors!
I’m Amanda Beedle and I will be on the ballot in the November 2 election as a Democratic candidate for Guilderland Town Board. I hope the kind of person I am will give you a sense of the kind of Board member I will be.
I was born and raised in Altamont, one of nine children growing up in a working-class family. I am a proud graduate of our excellent public school system.
I have worked in the past for the Town of Guilderland and am currently employed at Capital Region BOCES providing fixed asset management services. I live in Altamont with my husband Jeff, and am a proud mother to five boys. I’m the Vice President of the Altamont Free Library Board of Trustees and have long been a supporter of various PTA activities and Guilderland Public Library and Guilderland Chamber of Commerce events. I’ve worked with the Guilderland Democratic Committee for the past eight years, volunteering my time to help elect well-qualified Democratic candidates to offices at all levels. Since early 2020, I have been a member of the Guilderland Planning Board, where I have learned a great deal about the rules and administrative processes that are involved in the consideration of development projects of all types here in Guilderland.
I’m running for Town Board because I believe that the community needs to be represented by Board members who are involved in a variety of community affairs, and who are firmly committed to researching the matters that come before the Town Board, and to listening with respect and attention to the opinions of all members of the public who engage in public discussion of the issues. I am committed to seeing Guilderland be a community that is open and welcoming to all people, that supports both small and large businesses, and that offers diverse and accessible recreational opportunities for all residents. I am committed to a Town government that continues to exhibit fiscal discipline that has allowed our community to enjoy the lowest general Town tax rate in Albany County, and that promotes well-planned and careful growth patterns that balance the need for a diverse and expanded tax base with the desire of our residents to preserve the quality of life that brought them and their families to Guilderland in the first place.
In the months ahead, I will be out campaigning in our neighborhoods. If I haven’t already, I hope I get to meet you soon. If you want to know more about me or about what I stand for, all you need to do is ask. I am passionate about our Town and its future prospects, and I am and always will be ready to share that passion with you.
